Do we still take the time to pamper our skin every morning? You might think this goes without saying, but it's a step that many women skip. The morning is a real marathon: with work ahead of us, children to prepare for school, lunches, the nightmarish question that comes back to haunt us every morning “what will we prepare for dinner?” » What about our little skincare routine for our face? Here are the 5 QUICK steps we should take the time to do every morning.
#1: Clean your face!
Whether it's a milk (preferred by drier skin), a foam or a cleansing gel, as you wish. The important thing is to remove the impurities that have stuck to your skin overnight. This is the first anti-aging action to adopt, well before applying an anti-wrinkle cream.
#2: Apply a toner
The lotion is a complement to facial cleansing. It will help you dislodge impurities that may have resisted cleaning. Lotion is often forgotten and misunderstood. You know that bottle of transparent liquid in the back of your cupboard that is still full and that you have never used? This is the product we are talking about. Ladies, get your lotion out of the cupboard. Your skin will be better and so will your wallet. For what? Because the toner, in addition to perfecting cleansing and rebalancing the skin's pH, it prepares the skin to receive the cream. This will be able to penetrate deeper and be even more effective. In addition, when the skin is damp with lotion, it takes much less cream. This will slide on the lotion and penetrate further into the surface layer of the skin. In aesthetics, we call this horny imbibition. So your lotion will save you cream. Fantastic right?
Note: Be wary of lotions that contain alcohol inside. This will give you a rather pleasant instant freshness but in the medium term, will lead to significant dehydration of your skin. The same goes for heavily scented lotions which could cause irritation and other harmful effects on your skin.
#3: Don’t forget the serum
The serum is less known, and its usefulness is also poorly understood. Too bad because it is by far the most efficient product in terms of results. The serum is a “boost” for the skin. It's concentrated. When you buy a serum, you are buying results, regardless of your skin's problem. There are serums to treat rosacea, acne, wrinkles, skin tightening, pigment spots, complexion etc. The quantity of active ingredients found in serums is far greater than that found in day or night creams. Stop expecting changes to your skin from your creams. These are used to keep you hydrated and soften the skin. The serums will give you concrete and visual results. In fact, the only danger of serums, in my opinion, is that you won't be able to do without them.
Serum is always put on after cleansing and lotioning and moisturizer should always be put on top. Never rinse off the serum.
#4: The cream of the crop
The cream will of course be chosen according to your skin type and current needs. Your beautician will be able to enlighten you on this subject. Note that well-hydrated skin will be better able to face the day's aggressors: sun, wind, cold, pollution, stress, etc.
#5: Eye cream.
We could have reversed #4 and #5. This is a question that is frequently asked: Should we put the day cream before the eye cream or the other way around. It doesn't matter because they don't go to the same place. The face cream should not be placed too close to the eyes due to its high oil content. In some people, this could explain the appearance of dark circles, bags or fatty deposits in the dark circle fold. The eye contour cream has been specially designed for this fragile and thin eyelid skin. The fragility of this skin explains why it is the place where aging is first felt. Our lovely first wrinkle often makes its appearance in this area. So ladies, eye cream should certainly not be neglected in your morning routine.
And then, treat yourself! The eye contour cream should be applied all over the eyelid up to the base of the eyelashes, under the eye to the crease of the dark circle as well as on the crow's feet (charming name for the outer corner of the eye) . If it tingles or you feel discomfort, change the type. This one is simply not for you. Change product.
